Biography

Shen Xiangqian, The First Affiliated Hospital, Zhejiang University School of Medicine, Department of Plastic Surgery, Chief Physician, Ph.D.

Clinical Expertise: facial plastic surgery including double eyelid surgery, eye bag removal, rhinoplasty, facial rhytidectomy, facial fat grafting, and revision of failed cases; as well as liposuction, breast surgery, and genitourinary plastic surgery. He is also skilled in the use of microsurgical techniques for body-wide wound repair and for resection and reconstructive repair of soft tissue tumors throughout the body.

He graduated from the Graduate Program of Zhejiang University School of Medicine and became a Chief Physician in the Department of Hand Surgery at The First Affiliated Hospital, Zhejiang University School of Medicine in May 2005. He performs more than 300 surgeries of various types as the primary surgeon each year. Among these, microsurgical procedures such as toe transplantation and free flap transplantation rank among the top in the province in both volume and survival rate. He is particularly skilled in various types of flap repair. He has participated in 5 research projects and received provincial and ministerial Science and Technology Progress Awards. His current research projects include: application of endoscopy in minimally invasive hand surgery, and microanatomy and clinical application of perforator flaps. He has published 20 papers in total.
